Hmmm, I just saw this mentioned but it’s been out for months. I’m shocked I never saw this version gif’d, etc before, honestly. In the original he kind of froze and looked up in thought when she asked if he liked boys. In the director’s cut, he nods immediately and then he freezes and looks up in thought. That nod was removed from the ep. Now, it could be just him nodding along with her without it being an answer, since it was followed by the surprised freeze - but it makes more sense to me with the nod that his initial answer is yes, yes he does like boys - only to then realize that hey, he really does like boys, holy cow hence freezing in shock.
Probably I was just somehow out of the loop when this was discussed, but Stiles nodding when asked about liking boys is a pretty important detail to edit from the aired ep. Maybe they didn’t want to start something right then that they aren’t following through until S4 with. Maybe they decided to leave it ambiguous. Who knows. But it certainly feels like they actually intended to confirm he was bisexual and then decided to wait/not confirm. Which suggests to me maybe it’s just a matter of time…

|Do you think Derek has a praise kink?|
I don’t think Derek has a praise kink.
I think Derek has the praise kink. The praise kink of legends. The praise kink of the ages. The praise kink to rule all other praise kinks.
Derek wants so badly to be told he’s doing good, that he’s being good, that he’s gorgeous and incredible and great, just like that, just as he is. Derek wants nothing more than to be wanted, to be needed. Derek wants to hear that he’s loved and that he’s deserving of being loved.
Derek wants to give his partner as much love and support and pleasure he can muster and wants only for them to speak their love and praise of him always.
Aaaaaah, Derek and praise kink.
Derek is angry and vicious when he’s praised, at first. But the pack persists, until he’s eventually worn down to just bearing it stoically, frowning or snarling as a matter of habit.
Until one day he breaks, unexpectedly, suddenly. Scott says (offhand, easy, like it’s nothing at all for him to say it), “Thank you, that really helped.” And Derek scowls, but he also ducks his head — baring the back of his neck — and if you look closely there’s a flush rising in his face.
